Help protect bonding time – and the bottom line – with a post-op treatment for C-section patients

Almost half of all women undergoing C-sections with pre-pregnancy BMIs of 30 or greater experience post-op wound complications, such as surgical site infections (SSIs). Such complications can not only disrupt the precious bonding time of those first few weeks, but also have significant cost impacts: individual C-section patients who do develop an SSI will spend longer in the hospital, on average an additional 4 days (mean) and costing $6,925 per patient.

A new study shows how the use of PICO™ sNPWT after cesarean section helped to reduce SSIs compared to standard dressings with similar costs for pre-pregnancy BMI of 30kg/m2 or greater and estimated savings for pre-pregnancy BMI of 35kg/m2 or greater.
