IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service 2022 Vendor Assessment

It finds multicloud ascending with a 35.6% increase in spend — to $91 billion in 2021. IDC expects public cloud IaaS spend will surpass legacy IT and private cloud spend in the next few years.
In the vendor landscape, IDC MarketScape names Akamai a Contender and says, “In February, content delivery network (CDN) provider Akamai announced plans to purchase Linode for $900 million, instantly creating a prominent new force in public cloud IaaS.”
