DataRobot wants to ride the tide of a third wave of AI/machine learning, which the vendor characterizes as all about concentrating on its business value rather than the algorithms employed or the data used, which it sees as defining the first and second wave, respectively. It believes a value-driven approach for data scientists’ experimentation and ML engineers’ deployment purposes is the key to avoiding project failure and generating value for the business for AI/ML projects. This thesis is present in the new additions to DataRobot AI Platform 9.0 (its latest release), a growing focus on partnerships and early work with existing partner Microsoft Corp. to use generative AI to make enterprise data science easier.
