For insurance carriers, agencies, brokers, MGAs, and everyone else across the entire distribution channel, one thing is certain: Producers are the front line of your revenue-earning potential.

No matter where you stand in the insurance industry, you don’t make money without a team of licensed insurance agents selling a variety of insurance products. This is why, for many carriers and agencies, the time it takes to get a producer onboarded and ready to sell is painstakingly long.

Most of us are all-too-familiar with a process that goes something like this:

 

  • Spend time recruiting the right producers for your organization
  • Spend days weeks or months collecting documents like E&O insurance and W9 forms from the new producer via email, fax (yeah, you heard us right!), and phone calls 
  • Spend time manually ensuring the producer is licensed in each necessary state, for each necessary line of authority by logging into NIPR to track down each producer’s state-specific license info for each line of authority
  • Spend time verifying or obtaining new carrier appointments for the producer

When you add it up, a lot of time is spent just getting a producer ready to sell – and that’s time the agency and carrier aren’t generating revenue. Not to mention the producers themselves! Nothing is more frustrating for a person who makes their living selling than sitting in compliance limbo, unable to earn money.
