Shell Diala S5 BD is a readily biodegradable, low aquatic ecotoxicity, and recyclable dielectric coolant developed to meet the challenges of today’s distribution transformers and tomorrow’s power needs. It offers excellent artic temperature performance and extended oil life. Manufactured from zero-sulphur base oils produced using Shell’s isoparaffinic technology.

These base oils offer a high degree of compositional consistency, have an excellent response to antioxidants and are compatible with conventional oils. Shell Diala S5 BD does not contain carcinogenic chemicals such as polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and major corrosive sulfur dibenzyl disulphide (DBDS). It protects the transformer from failure by reducing the risk of corrosive sulphur developing from the insulating oil.
